While at Baylor, he worked at a student assistant for the Baylor Men's Basketball team under the direction of Scott Drew, Jerome Tang, and Matt Driscoll. Coach Matt Rodgers assisted in rebuilding the Baylor Men's Basketball program that had been decimated by tragedy, player departures, depleted rosters and NCAA restrictions. During Coach Rodgers time with the program Baylor advanced to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1988, as well as NIT Championship in 2009, posting their first ever back to back 20 win seasons. While at Baylor, Matt worked closely with Coach Tang in recruiting. During his first three years, Baylor recruiting classes were rated 10th, 11th and 17th, respectively, in the nation (widely considered Baylor's top consecutive recruiting classes ever). During the summer and off season Matt lead the men’s basketball team in individual workouts in addition to assisting at Baylor Summer Basketball camps. Upon graduation from Baylor with his Masters in Sports Management, Coach Matt plans to work for the Men’s Basketball Team as he pursues his dream of being a Division I head coach.
