Join Academy Director Steven M. Lee and the DSF staff for our 7th annual Summer Basketball Academy designed to provide a comprehensive week of basketball instruction for young athletes of  ALL LEVELS which will leave your young athlete with a renewed energy and enthusiasm for the game of basketball and improved self-confidence.

*All camps will be held at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church gym (unless otherwise noted),
conveniently located at the corner of Northwest Highway and Inwood Road*

Skills Taught 

Shooting (Monday-Tuesday)

  Players will be provided with personalized and highly focused shot training. All instruction, drills, and competition are geared toward shot correction, enhancement, and reinforcement. We believe pure shooters are made not born. Shooting camp presents a premier shooting system based on logical and scientific principles. Excellent teaching combines both technical instruction and competition in a fun-filled atmosphere. 
                                                                                                                                         
Ball Handling Camp (Wednesday)     
 
Players will be provided with various drills and techniques to maximize young athletes hand quickness, hand coordination, off-hand ability, overall ball control, and game-type moving dribbles. We will also identify the nine most common mistakes to becoming a great ball handlers. Each camper will learn a personalized drill workout plan to facilitate consistent and long term improvement in this area.    
 
 
Guard Play & Team Skills (Thursday)   

How to control game tempo and to set offense.
How to lead the fast break and get the ball to the correct players .
How to know and learn the six most important point offensive and defensive skills .
How to penetrate and attack the basket under control
